Middle School History Teacher

Uncommon Schools seeks a Middle School History Teacher to deliver rigorous, culturally responsive instruction in a college-preparatory public charter setting. You will plan and teach standards-aligned history lessons, use data to drive instruction, and maintain a structured, engaging classroom that supports all learners. You will collaborate closely with teammates, communicate regularly with families, and participate in ongoing coaching and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned middle school history lessons.
• Use data from assessments to adjust instruction and support student growth.
• Create an engaging, structured, and culturally responsive classroom environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and IEP/504 goals.
• Collaborate with grade-level and content teams on curriculum and best practices.
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress and goals.
• Participate in professional development, coaching, and observation cycles.
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives, events, and positive school culture.
