Location: New York
Exceptional preschool teachers don't require scripted lessons. They require a school that values their professional judgment.
If you're an educator who sees play as foundational work, prioritizes relationships over rote academics, and views each moment as a chance for meaningful growth, Alpha will be the right fit for you.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Manhattan, where you will lead a Pre‑K classroom focused equally on emotional safety, curiosity, and measurable developmental progress. You'll create rich, play‑based learning environments that foster confidence, resilience, early literacy, numeracy, and authentic enthusiasm for learning. We seek educators who understand that high-quality preschool is not daycare—it's the critical foundation for all future learning.
Alpha is transforming education by accelerating academic mastery, which frees up time to cultivate the essential life skills students need. That transformation starts in Pre‑K with outstanding teachers who turn play into intentional learning.
We are hiring from throughout the New York metro area. If you're a talented educator interested in relocating closer to the city, relocation assistance is available.
If you've been seeking a school that honors early childhood education as a true profession—not merely a stepping stone—submit your application today.
What You Will Be Doing- Create joyful, sensory-rich learning environments that deliberately foster early literacy, numeracy, self-regulation, and social-emotional development.
- Build a classroom culture where every child feels emotionally secure, genuinely understood, and eager to attend school each day.
- Observe children's development continuously, document significant progress, and apply those observations to individualize instruction.
- Modify activities based on each child's developmental stage and interests, ensuring every learner achieves measurable growth.
- Collaborate closely with families to communicate progress, celebrate achievements, and extend each child's development into the home environment.
- Supervising children without intentional developmental goals underlying each activity.
- Implementing scripted curricula, depending on worksheets, or teaching for compliance rather than fostering curiosity.
- Spending your time managing misbehavior instead of supporting children in developing emotional self‑regulation.
- Placing children in front of academic software while you observe passively from a distance.
