Percussion Teacher

Music & Arts is seeking a Percussion Teacher to provide private and group drum and percussion lessons in our retail store. In this role, you'll teach students of varying ages and skill levels, develop personalized lesson plans, prepare students for recitals and performances, and track progress. You will collaborate with store staff to support enrollments and promote lessons, maintain a safe and engaging studio space, and model professional musicianship.

This position is ideal for a working musician or educator passionate about music education, customer service, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and group percussion lessons to students of various ages and skill levels
• Develop and follow individualized lesson plans and curriculum aligned with student goals
• Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school or community performances
• Assess and document student progress, providing feedback to students and parents
• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging lesson and rehearsal environment
• Collaborate with store staff to schedule lessons and support student enrollment growth
• Advise students and parents on appropriate instruments, accessories, and practice habits
• Incorporate proper technique, music theory, and reading skills into instruction
• Demonstrate professional musicianship and punctual, reliable attendance
• Participate in occasional store events, recitals, or workshops to promote music education
