School Counselor – Long-Term SubstituteAssignment: Long-Term Substitute School Counselor

Anticipated Duration: Minimum of six weeks; may be extended based on district needs
Liverpool Central School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated School Counselor to serve as a long-term substitute at Willow Field Elementary School, a K–2 elementary school. The anticipated assignment will begin in late October or early November 2026 and is expected to be for at least six weeks, with the possibility that the assignment may be extended based on the needs of the district.
The successful candidate will provide school counseling services to students in grades K–2 and work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, and other school-based professionals to support students' academic, social-emotional, and developmental needs.
Responsibilities- Provide individual and small-group counseling services to students in grades K–2.
- Support students' social-emotional development and overall well-being.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to address student needs.
- Assist with the development and implementation of appropriate interventions and student support plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and responsive services when appropriate.
- Consult with parents/guardians regarding student concerns and progress.
- Maintain appropriate student records and documentation.
- Participate in building-level meetings and multidisciplinary teams as appropriate.
- Support a positive, inclusive, and welcoming school environment.
- New York State certification as a School Counselor or eligibility for appropriate New York State certification.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a school-based team.
