AccelerateU Teacher

Teacher / Admin

Salary: $245.00 per student completion of a 20-to-24‑week online course. If the student withdraws prior to completion, the teacher will be compensated at a daily rate of $1.45. Teachers will be compensated in the month following course completion or withdrawal.

• Work with a diverse population of students.
• Provide students with a safe, orderly environment conducive to teaching and learning.
• Provide resources to meet student learning needs.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with all stakeholders.
• Record and report student progress.
• Provide a minimum of one synchronous office hour per week, available for calls and meetings (virtual) as provided in the AccelerateU handbook.

Candidate must have:

• Current NYSED certification in a content area.
• Documented five (5) years of teaching experience.
• Evidence of proficiency with computer technology.
• Evidence of responsiveness to students and all other stakeholders.

Candidates should possess a broad skill set of effective teaching and learning to engage learners of all levels, including but not limited to:

• Knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards and Assessments.
• Knowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Promoting equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.
