SUMMARY
The Content Specialist is responsible for overseeing and supporting the implementation of programming across COMPASS required content areas. Replacing the former Education Specialist role, this position is broader in scope and includes selecting or developing curricula, creating lesson plans, and ensuring activities align with DYCD standards and program goals. The Content Specialist provides direct supervision, coaching, and professional development to Activity Specialists, Group Leaders, and Youth Workers to ensure program quality and consistency.
JOBRESPONSIBILITIES Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, selection, and implementation of program content in required COMPASS areas, ensuring compliance with DYCD requirements.
- Develop or adapt sequenced lesson plans and curricula with clear goals and objectives.
- Provide coaching, supervision, and training to Activity Specialists, Group Leaders, and Youth Workers.
- Conduct program observations and provide feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and deliver professional development opportunities for program staff.
- Monitor program activities to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with objectives.
- Support evaluation and reporting by maintaining accurate documentation of program content and outcomes.
- Collaborate with program leadership to strengthen program design and delivery.
- Maintain accurate and timely data entry for participant attendance, program activities, and outcomes to ensure compliance with funder and agency reporting requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Education, Youth Development, Human Services, or related field preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or oversight position, including program content management, staff training, and coaching.
- Strong knowledge of youth development practices and program design.
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across programs.
