Description of Organization:The Baruch STEP Academy is an academic enrichment program focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and providing college preparation. Managed through the CUNY Research Foundation, we serve 200 middle and high school students throughout the city each year.

Description:
The course will prepare upper class high school students for the math section (Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra I and II) of the SAT. Test taking tips and strategies that will be reviewed.
Summary of Responsibilities- Plan and teach original course curriculum
- Evaluate student and group performance
- Provide staff with measurable results in student learning through assessments
- Monitor and maintain student attendance records
- Reassess curriculum based on student needs, interest, and understanding of material
- Other duties as assigned
- Availability for each program day from 10:30am-12pm
- Strong background in the subject area
- Experience in a teaching capacity within subject area
- Experience with designing/implementing a course curriculum
- Have a strong classroom management style
- Degree in mathematics or related subject
- Prior teaching experience with high school or undergraduate studentsPreferred
- Ability to engage students with creative lessons and innovative teaching style
- Possess good interpersonal skills with adolescents and a strong understanding of their maturity levels
- Enthusiasm for the subject with flexibility in adjusting curriculum to reflect students' abilities
$45 per hour
