The Hagedorn Little Village School – Seaford, NY
Position beginning September 2026
Hours: M-F 8:00 am - 4:00 pm; half-hour lunch per day
10-month position following school calendar
This is an in-person position
Salary commensurate with experience: $62,000 - $67,000
Salaried Position with benefits (medical, dental, vision, 403B, sick/personal time, paid holidays)
Educational Requirements:- Applicant must possess a Master’s Degree in Psychology and Certification as a School Psychologist
The CPSE (Committee on Preschool Special Education) evaluations department conducts assessments for children between the ages of 2.5 and 5.5 referred by their local school district. The School Psychologist will be part of the CPSE team who are conducting these evaluations.
Job Responsibilities:- Conduct social history interviews and classroom observations
- Conduct cognitive and educational evaluations
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments in community pre-schools
- Complete Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Conduct parent training sessions (optional)
- Provide families with information regarding the CPSE process and the evaluations conducted with their child
- Participate in school district meetings and present the evaluations to the Committee on Preschool Special Education
- Passionate about working with children and families
- Empathetic and considerate of others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess excellent time management/organizational skills
- Be able to multitask and meet compliance deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members
- Experience with school districts or CPSE procedures a plus
Fingerprinting and a New York State criminal background check are mandatory
