OVERVIEW Fordham University is seeking an Assistant Director to support the Office for International Services (OIS) in delivering guidance and services for international students and scholars. Reporting to the Director of OIS, this role includes advising on immigration matters, managing compliance activities, and supporting employment authorization processes. The position also serves as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) and Designated School Official (DSO) and contributes to immigration-related services across the university.
Keyresponsibilities
- Provide guidance and services to international students and scholars
- Serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) and Designated School Official (DSO)
- Advise international students and scholars regarding employment authorization, travel, re-entry, and immigration compliance
- Present orientations and workshops
- Manage SEVIS actions
- Process OPT and STEM OPT documentation
- Support J-1 scholars and H-1B petitions
- Ensure compliance with U.S. immigration regulations
- Experience supporting international students and scholars
- Ability to advise on immigration compliance matters
- Knowledge of employment authorization processes including opt and STEM OPT documentation
- Ability to manage SEVIS actions
- Ability to support J-1 scholars and H-1B petitions
- Ability to present orientations and workshops
- Ability to issue immigration documents
