Location: Bedford Hills

Music & Arts seeks an Orchestral Strings Music Teacher to provide high quality private and group instruction on violin, viola, cello, and bass. In this in store role, you'll create engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and prepare students for performances, auditions, and school ensembles. You'll collaborate with store staff to support rentals, repairs, and accessories, communicate regularly with parents and educators, and help grow the lesson studio.

Ideal candidates have orchestral strings expertise, strong pedagogy skills, and a passion for student success and community music education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide private and group lessons on violin, viola, cello, and bass to students of varying ages and levels
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans that build technique, theory, and musicianship in orchestral strings
  • Assess student progress, set goals, and prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school performances
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about progress, practice needs, and scheduling
  • Collaborate with store staff to support rentals, repairs, and accessory recommendations for students
  • Maintain accurate scheduling, attendance, and basic progress records
  • Create an inclusive, motivating classroom environment aligned with Music & Arts' student focused culture
  • Participate in occasional in store events, recitals, and community outreach activities
  • Uphold store policies and safety standards within the lesson environment
