Piano Teacher

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America seeks a Piano Teacher to lead engaging group and individual lessons for youth in a safe, inclusive Club environment. The instructor will develop age-appropriate curricula, teach piano technique and basic music theory, and prepare members for informal recitals and showcases. Responsibilities include classroom management, tracking student progress, caring for instruments, and collaborating with Club staff to align music programming with academic, leadership, and healthy lifestyles goals.

Ideal candidates have prior youth teaching experience and a passion for empowering young people through music.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver group and individual piano lessons for Club members of varying ages and skill levels
• Teach foundational piano technique, sight-reading, and basic music theory
• Create age-appropriate lesson plans and curricula aligned with Club program goals
• Prepare youth for informal recitals, performances, and showcases
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
• Track and document student attendance, participation, and skill progress
• Care for and organize pianos, keyboards, and related music materials
• Communicate with Club staff and families about student progress and needs
• Collaborate with youth development professionals to integrate music with academic and leadership programs
• Uphold BGCA policies, child safety standards, and positive youth development practices
