Location: New York

  • Plan, coordinate, and communicate the College’s international/intercultural programming, events, and community outreach
  • Respond to staff, student, and community inquiries as appropriate
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain culturally focused partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and other stakeholders
  • Chair committees involving students, college personnel, and community members as needed
  • Assist with identifying and developing international/intercultural and other grant opportunities
  • Direct assigned grant-funded initiatives
  • Manage international/intercultural education budgets and other assigned budgets in accordance with College policies and procedures
  • Serve as a liaison with College personnel to coordinate programs, resources, and services supporting student engagement and success
  • Attend work, meetings, activities, and functions consistently and dependably
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Travel to other College locations and community sites as needed to support programs, events, and outreach activities
  • Participate in development of College policies and procedures related to international/intercultural education
  • Conduct significant outreach and engagement with faculty, staff, and the metropolitan area community
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Event Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Marketing, Communications, or another related field
  • Two years’ related work experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered
  • Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or position responsibilities
  • Must pass background check
  • Knowledge of grant writing and management procedures
  • Knowledge of and appreciation for diverse cultures, perspectives, and experiences
  • Knowledge of immigration trends
  • Skill in public speaking and presentations
  • Skill in customer relations
  • Skill in interpersonal communications
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other college supported systems
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to work independently with brief instruction
  • Ability to maintain an attitude of initiative and acceptance of responsibility
  • Ability to read documents and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to recognize legal jargon surrounding travel programs and insurance
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets
  • Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities
  • Monday-Friday, 8-5 availability with frequent evening hours as programming requires
