The Briarcliff Manor School District is seeking an eager and highly qualified special education teacher to join our middle school's dynamic team of educators and fulfill our mission of providing students with the tools and opportunities to do well and be well, and join us in our mission to guide children on their journey toward young adulthood. Join us as we incorporate a range of instructional strategies, create opportunities for discussion and reflection, offer community building and service learning, encourage students to take risks in their learning, and maintain clear expectations for behavior and social interaction.

Special Education Teacher (.6) - Part Time (Substitute/Leave Replacement)

Certification

Required:

NYS Students with Disabilities 7-12 Certification required, experience teaching Special Education at the middle school level preferred.

Salary:
Briarcliff Teachers' Association Collective Bargaining Agreement

Ideal Qualifications of a Candidate:

• Experienced with supporting students grades 7 and 8 in a variety of subject areas to support IEP goals and student growth.
• Keen understanding of specially designed instruction that supports student learning.
• Responsible for developing and monitoring progress of IEP goals and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning at the middle school level.
• Committed to student-centered and student-driven learning experiences with opportunities for student voice and choice.
• Ability to work productively and collaboratively with the faculty and student body.
