Part-Time After school 3k-1G Instructor

At Fitkidz, we believe every afternoon should inspire children to move, learn, create, and grow. We are looking for energetic, caring, and dependable team members who are passionate about working with children and helping them build confidence through enrichment activities, arts, homework support, and positive mentorship.

Our After school Instructors are responsible for creating a safe, caring, active, and enriching environment for children in the Fitkidz after school program.

Responsibilities:
  • Taking attendance/ head count of children in program
  • Assist participants with crafts and recreational activities.
  • Prepare/hand out snacks for after school children.
  • Plan and implement fun, educational activities for children.
  • Monitor participants’ behavior and report to staff.
  • Maintain daily communication with the Program Director.
  • Perform daily cleanup duties.
  • Facilitate group participation in scheduled activities.
  • Bathroom Assist
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of coaching experience with children ages 2-12.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Current physical (form will be provided; updated physical on DOH form must be submitted).
  • Three reference letters from previous employers.
  • Fingerprints from OCFS, DOH or DOE (we will assist with obtaining this).
  • 5 Hour Health and Safety training
  • Mandated Reporter
Job Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; college students are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working in youth development preferred.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with young children.
  • Dependable, with a demonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be fingerprinted, background check, and provide medical clearance to work in school-age childcare.
Position Details:
  • Job Type: Part-time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Flexible days)
  • Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (Bi-weekly or twice monthly pay)
  • Location: One site; in-person role

Required Experience and

Education:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience (preferred), including teaching or youth development.
