Overview
The Glenmont Job Corps Center offers students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma or GED and receive hands‑on training in a variety of technical and vocational fields. The center is part of the federally supported Job Corps program and serves at‑risk youth ages 16‑24. We provide academic and career‑technical training that leads to nationally recognized credentials.
We are seeking a Recreation Advisor to plan and deliver recreational and mentorship programs for our students, fostering personal growth, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a diverse range of recreational activities, including sports, fitness programs, outdoor adventures, and team‑building exercises.
- Foster a positive and inclusive recreational environment that encourages personal growth, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students, helping them develop social skills, self‑confidence, and resilience.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate recreational activities into the overall educational and vocational program.
- Monitor and assess the progress of students, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for positive change.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all participants, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate of Arts Degree or 1-year related experience working with youth.
