Job Summary:
The Coordinator for Transfer & International Enrollment Services provides comprehensive academic and personal support to incoming and returning non-traditional students at Hilbert College. This role serves as a primary resource and advocate for transfer students through communication of admission criteria, transfer credits, and general enrollment benefits s role also supports international students, facilitating their integration into campus life and the local community.
The Coordinator connects students with relevant campus departments, oversees international orientation programs, and supports study abroad initiatives.
- Recruitment of non-traditional student populations such as those transferring from other higher education institutions and international students.
- Advise students on academic, personal, and cultural matters, acting as a liaison between students, the college, and the broader community.
- Establish early and ongoing communication with incoming transfer and international students to ensure a welcoming and supportive experience.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries via the International Student Admissions email account.
- Represent the college at various domestic college recruitment events.
- Support inbound and outbound study abroad students with logistics such as registration, housing, financial aid, and accessibility services.
- Assist with planning and implementation of on-campus events supporting transfer and international student enrollment.
- Coordinate orientation activities, providing follow-up support throughout the academic year.
- Develop and implement programs that foster engagement between international and domestic students to promote cross-cultural understanding.
- Serve as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) in compliance with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regulations.
- Facilitate institutional partnerships and exchange agreements to promote student enrollment and faculty exchange.
- Maintain regular contact with international partner institutions to coordinate support for exchange students.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to develop and maintain study abroad policies, financial planning resources, articulation agreements, and academic protocols.
- Organize and lead study abroad informational sessions, orientation meetings, pre-departure workshops, and re-entry/re-assimilation programs.
- Serve as the primary contact for students, families, faculty, and staff regarding study abroad procedures, policies, and preparation.
- Assist incoming students with the I-20 and visa application process prior to enrollment.
- Demonstrate understanding and empathy for the unique experiences of transfer and international and expatriate students.
- Maintain current knowledge of federal and state regulations related to international students.
- Exhibit sensitivity and alignment with the mission and values of a faith-based, liberal arts college.
- Transport students to off-campus locations as needed; must be able to drive a car or van.
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is preferred.
- Availability to work regular office hours (Monday-Friday), with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- BA/BS in a related field required, MEd/MS/MA in College Student Development or related field preferred.
- Experience working with incoming transfer and international students preferred.
- Quality experience with international travel and/or studying abroad preferred.
Compensation: $24.04 per hour ($50,000 annually)
