Applause Theatrical Workshop is looking for a Pre-K Musical Theater Teacher to join our Theater Department. Classes start next week!
This is a wonderful opportunity for a warm, energetic, creative teacher who loves preschoolers and wants to introduce young children to the joy of musical theater through music, movement, imagination, storytelling, and creative play. Our ideal teacher is someone who genuinely enjoys working with 3- and 4-year-olds and knows how to keep young children engaged and excited.
Schedule:
Mondays: 3:30–4:15 PM
Tuesdays: 3:15–4:00 PM
Thursdays: 3:15–4:00 PM
Fridays: 4:05–4:50 PM
Starting Rate: $40/class
Availability for the full schedule is NOT required, but preferred. We are happy to consider candidates who are only available for some of the days and times listed above.
Overview:
Pre-K Musical Theater Teachers at Applause Theatrical Workshop create joyful, engaging, and age-appropriate theater experiences for our youngest performers. Through singing, dancing, storytelling, imaginative play, and creative movement, teachers help preschoolers build confidence, develop social and performance skills, and discover the magic of theater.
The ideal teacher understands that working with preschoolers requires energy, patience, empathy, flexibility, and a great sense of humor!
Teach engaging, age-appropriate musical theater classes for preschool-aged children
Lead students through singing, dancing, creative movement, storytelling, and imaginative play within the boundaries of a pre-existing curriculum
Introduce basic musical theater concepts in a fun and accessible way
Keep young children engaged and actively participating throughout class
Manage a classroom of energetic preschoolers with patience and positivity
Communicate clearly and professionally with the Theater Department team
Be a positive, enthusiastic, and encouraging role model for young children and help foster a strong sense of community, joy, and excitement around theater
Genuine love of working with preschool-aged children
Experience working with young children in a classroom, camp, theater, dance, music, or early childhood setting required
Warm, patient, energetic, and encouraging personality
Creative and playful teaching style.
Comfortable singing, dancing, moving, and performing in front of children
A collaborative and professional attitude
Passion for theater, music, movement, and working with young performers
Availability for orientation September 9th required.
