Job Description
We are hiring in Bronx, NY! Join us at Easterseals NY
- Story Ave for an exciting career as a General Education Teacher. As a General Education teacher for our preschool program you will understand child development and construct a curriculum and classroom environment in which children will learn and succeed.
- Develop and implement curriculum plans providing age-appropriate instruction and supervision for the individual child or group of children.
- Interact with children at all times in a nurturing and developmentally appropriate way, while encouraging self-help.
- Assure the supervision and safety of children including the enforcement of child release policies.
- Perform child observation, child assessment and timely records keeping.
- Supervise classroom Associate Teachers, Foster Grandparents, and Volunteers.
- Interact with families in a respectful and nonjudgmental manner.
- Work with Agency personnel and community agencies to address the individual needs of children and families.
- Promote and model developmentally appropriate practices, good hygiene and nutrition.
- Adhere to all program and agency policies.
- Participate in ongoing staff development, in-services, and additional meetings.
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Certification in early childhood education preferred
- First Aid and CPR preferred.
- 45, (depending on credentials and experience)
