Child Care Teacher

• Create hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of children
• Maintain open communication with parents and share children’s daily milestones
• Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines
• Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in compliance with Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, applicable laws, and regulations
• Work with infants, toddlers, and 2's/young preschoolers
• Participate in classroom and child care center activities

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED required
• 9 college credits in Early Childhood Education and a study plan leading to an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education required
• Candidates must pass required state and company background checks
• Candidates must meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
• New York State Teaching (B-2, N-6, 1-6, Special Education) or study plan eligible preferred
• At least two years of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool preferred
• Must comply with applicable immunization, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training requirements
• Ability to work in person in an early education/preschool child care center in the NYC, NY area
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally more than 40 pounds
• Full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities
• Ability to respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
• Mental and physical alertness and appropriate energy to perform essential job requirements

Demonstrates expertise in Early Childhood Education, providing care and curriculum delivery while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Capable of maintaining effective communication with parents and adapting activities to meet children's needs.
