The Department offers undergraduate majors in Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Computer Science, and Actuarial Science. The position includes significant instructional responsibilities. The successful candidate should be a math pedagogue, with expertise in teaching lower-division mathematics courses, and will be hired specifically to teach and potentially provide leadership for first-year mathematics courses, including Algebra, Precalculus, and Calculus.
Additional responsibilities may include student advising; course and curriculum development; preparation of assessments, program reviews, and collaborative learning activities; participate in faculty and professional development initiatives; evaluation and implementation of innovative methodologies, teaching strategies, and instructional delivery methods; development of teaching materials to enhance student learning and support course objectives; assessment of student learning outcomes; and active participation in departmental, college, and university service activities.
QUALIFICATIONSThe applicant must have a Ph.D. in mathematics or equivalent, college level teaching experience; demonstrated involvement in curriculum development and experience developing innovative learning materials; demonstrated innovation in the classroom, and implementation of creative and engaging teaching strategies, such as the “flipped classroom.”
COMPENSATION$93,080- $104,567; commensurate with education and experience
