The 14Y After School Program engages hands, heads, and hearts for children in K-5th grade attending schools across the East Village. After School is a neurodiverse community, and all staff members are responsible for supporting neurodivergent and neurotypical students to have a successful after school day.

We are seeking part-time After school Leaders who are enthusiastic, highly motivated role models who are directly responsible for the well-bring and safety of participants in the 14Y After School community.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Attend all days of staff orientation before After School
  • Attend all scheduled days of After School and monthly staff meetings during the year (After School runs from September 14, 2026 through June 4, 2027)
  • Pick up students from designated school pickiup location and escort them safety to the 14Y while following all safety and attendance procedures
  • Communicateregularlyandeffectivelywith After school Program Manager
  • Workharmoniouslywithassignedco-Group-Leader(s) andSocial Work Interns
  • Maintainstandardsof Afterschoolconduct,behaviormanagementprotocols,and inclusion
  • Whenworkingwithchildrenandfellowstaff,upholdandimplement Afterschoolvalues (Personal Growth, Empathy, Respect, and Passion)
  • Attendregularsupervisionandparticipateinevaluationprocesses
  • Mustadheretoagencyand site-specificsafetystandards
  • Complywithcityanddepartmentalrules,regulations,policiesandprocedures
  • Supportyouthdevelopmentthrough After Schoolprogrammingwhichincludes ,butis not limited to:
    Art, Sports, Science, Music, Theatre, Academic Support, Shabbat programming, and more!
  • Effectively develop a rapport with participants and parents, maintaining safety and confidentiality
  • Assumeresponsibilityforthephysicalandmentalhealthandsafetyof childreninthe After school Community
  • Keep a record of student activity, behavior, and injuries/accidents
  • Activelyparticipateinandsupportcampersthroughoutallactivities
  • Providequalitysupervisionatalltimes(e.g. duringschoolpick-up,in assigned homeroom, during snack, throughout activities and all transitional periods)
  • Assist Teacherswithchildren’sneedsduringactivitiesandstepintoleadif/when necessary
  • Beopentoleadingatleastoneeasy-goingclassaweeksuchasboardgames,ballgames, yoga, watercolors, with support from After School leadership etc.
  • Encourageallparticipantstoparticipate&betheiron-sitedailysupportsystem
  • Focusonsocialdynamics&friendshipbuildingofassignedchildren
  • Whenassignedtorequiredmonthlyswimduty,ensurethatchildrenaresafeand abiding by pool rules.
  • Beresponsiblefor overallcleanlinessandorganizationofspacesandsupplies
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 18+
  • Availability to work on site at the 14Y from 2:30pm-6:15pm at least 3 days per week from September 14th - January 22nd and January 25th-June 4th and staff orientation in September
  • Previous experience working with children ages 5 to 10 years old strongly preferred.
  • Abilitytocommunicateeffectivelyandrespectfullywithallcommunitymembers, including modeling and facilitating positive conflict resolution
  • Abilitytobeamentorandbearesourcetostudents,staff,familiesandembrace/foster cultural inclusiveness
