Description:

The CUNY SPS Office of Innovative Learning Solutions (ILS) seeks an experienced detail-oriented subject matter expert professional to join our training team in the role of Energy Training Instructor. This role will be an integral part of the Energy Training team that manages the design, development, delivery and administration of relevant learning programs on behalf of the Department of Citywide Administrative Services’ (DCAS) Division of Energy Management.

This program prepares City facilities personnel to make energy-smart decisions that assist the City of New York in meeting its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goals. The program is designed to help facility professionals across City agencies envision a learning path specifically targeted to their professional and personnel development goals.

The Energy Training Instructor has an integral role in leveraging their work experience and subject matter expertise in an engineering specialty (e.g., mechanical, electrical, civil, environmental, etc.), energy management, or sustainability, to provide instruction to adult learners responsible for implementing cost saving energy measures that improve building operations and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Sr. Program Manager, Training Operations, the Energy Training Instructor will:

Deliver educational content, guide learners, provide support, and assess performance to ensure learning outcomes are achieved to ensure compliance with ANSI/IACET standards. Use effectively various teaching and facilitation strategies to address multiple adult learning styles, promote learner engagement, and ensure the transfer of learning back to the job.
