OVERVIEW The Temporary International Student Advisor for International Student and Scholar Services at The New School supports international students through advising, immigration processing, and compliance activities. This role reports to the Senior Advisor for International Students and Scholars and works primarily in person in New York City. The position focuses on maintaining accurate student records, processing requests through institutional and government systems, and helping students understand immigration regulations and status requirements.

• Support international student processing for International Student and Scholar Services
• Advise students on immigration regulations and maintenance of status
• Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO)
• Process requests using SEVIS, Sunapsis, and Banner systems
• Communicate with international students regarding immigration and student matters
• Ensure compliance with USCIS, DHS, DOS, and NAFSA guidance
• Work with the Senior Advisor for International Students and Scholars on student advising and processing activities
• Support school processes related to international student services

• Ability to advise international students on immigration regulations and maintenance of status
• Ability to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO)
• Experience or ability to process requests using SEVIS, Sunapsis, and Banner systems
• Knowledge of USCIS, DHS, DOS, and NAFSA guidance related to international student compliance
• Ability to communicate with students regarding immigration and school

Availability to work primarily in person in New York City
