Salary: $80,000; NYS certification (birth to 2nd grade) and/or MASTERS, or Nursery to 6th Grade, Childhood Education (Grades 1-6), special education N-12th Grade, student with disabilities Birth to 2nd Grade

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
• Supervise and monitor children at all times to ensure health and safety standards are met
• Support children's emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development
• Maintain positive and professional communication with parents, staff, and administration
• Complete daily reports, incident reports, attendance records, and required documentation accurately and timely manner
• Ensure compliance with DOE-DOH regulations, health and safety standards, and center policies
• Supervise and support assistant teachers and classroom aides
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
• Promote teamwork and maintain a positive learning environment

• Bachelor's Degree with 60 credits in early childhood education and 2 years teaching experience; OR an Associate Degree in early childhood education, and 6 years teaching experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a childcare or daycare setting
• Knowledge of child development and classroom management techniques
• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Must meet all DOE-DOH clearance requirements
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to lift, bend, stand, and actively engage with children throughout the day
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times

Fort Greene Council, Inc. (FGC) is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization established in Brooklyn, New York in 1973 and incorporated in 1974. The Council's strives to provide services at several stages of the life cycle, at the beginning with our Early Childhood & free After School Programs, to our Senior programs for the elderly. Our Mission is to provide quality programming and human service care that encourages and embraces seniors, educate and empower children, while enriching the lives of families nurturing and supportive environment.
