POSITION SUMMARY:

A Chef Instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education is tasked with both delivered our award-winning education,andinspiringstudentsandpeersalike.

Aseniorinstructormodelsthelevelofprofessionalism that is an example to others and takes the time to mentor and train students. They are emblematic of the best qualities from both the hospitality and education fields.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Motivateandguideaspiringculinaryprofessionalstofindtheirculinary voice.
  • Trainfacultyincurriculummasteryandteachingskillas required.
  • RepresentICEforon-campuseventsasrequired(suchas,butnotlimitedto:Open-house, demonstrations, special events).
  • Conductin-classroomdemonstrationsasrequiredby curriculum.
  • Deliver clear,conciseandorganizedlecturesbothin-personand online.
  • Assessstudentandfacultyperformancethroughobservationandinteraction,alongwithwritten and practical examinations.
  • Assureclassesareconductedinamannerthatcomplieswithprinciplesoffoodsafetyand sanitation.
  • Maintainaccuraterecordsofstudentattendanceand performance.
  • Attendmeetingsandfacultyorientationas required.
  • Otherdutiesas required.
EXPERIENCEANDEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’sdegreeorhigherinarelatedfield.

    Master’sdegree preferred.
  • Mustpossessasolidfoundationofculinaryand/orpastry&baking knowledge,withastrong desire for continued learning.
  • Minimumofseven(7) yearsculinaryorpastry&bakingexperiencewithsomesupervisory responsibilities. Fine Dining experience highly preferred.
  • College-levelteachingexperiencehighly preferred.
  • Excellentcommunicationskillsbothwrittenandverbal;strongpresentationandinterpersonal skills.
  • Demonstratedabilitytointeractinacollaborativemannerwithotherdepartmentsand teams.
  • Workingknowledgeof Microsoftsuiteofproductsincluding Outlook ,PowerPoint,Wordand Excel.

Up-to $650.00 per year reimbursement program for any combination of the following:

  • Tuition Assistance
  • Dues in Culinary and/or professional organizations
  • Subscriptions to professional and culinary magazines or purchase of related books.
