Repertorio Español is a non-profit theater that presents classical and contemporary plays year-round, in Spanish and under a rotating repertory model. Each season includes around 12 productions, with at least two world premieres annually. Additionally, the company supports emerging Latinx artists through programs such as readings of new plays, commissions, and opportunities for young directors, as well as educational activities for students and special programs for older adults.

All performances are presented in Spanish, with English subtitles for non-Spanish speakers and Spanish subtitles for deaf or hard-of-hearing audience members.

Repertorio Español is seeking a bilingual Community Outreach Liaison to support the Company’s goal of expanding access to culturally relevant theatre for Latinx/e youth across New York City, particularly recent immigrants and underserved youth.

The Community Outreach Liaison will develop and strengthen relationships with NYC public schools, families, educators, and community-based organizations; support student and family engagement with Repertorio’s programming; and help create meaningful connections between young people, their communities, and the performing arts.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, six-month position beginning October 1, 2026, with the possibility of an extension. The annual salary is $60,000. This position includes fringe and health benefits. The role operates on a hybrid schedule, with in-person presence required across partner school sites, community organizations, and Repertorio's home base in Manhattan. Candidates should expect travel throughout the boroughs as a core part of the job.

Repertorio will cover all transportation costs associated with work-related travel.

• Identify new partnerships with NYC public high and middle schools, especially dual language schools and those with high Latinx/e enrollment, prioritizing communities in the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.
• Work closely with the Marketing Director, Group Sales, and Education Managers to prepare and send supporting materials, build new partnerships, organize preparatory workshops, and subsequent trips to the theatre.
• Organize preparatory workshops for students attending Repertorio performances, with a focus on building cultural context and theatre literacy
• Facilitate educator focus groups to gather feedback and support arts integration, building cultural context and theatre literacy through professional development
• Conduct bilingual outreach to families, schools, and community organizations to increase Latinx/e youth attendance at weekend performances
• Track participation data and support program evaluation through surveys, teacher forms, and engagement metrics.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive contact database of schools, educators, and community organizations engaged through outreach efforts, documenting contacts, follow-ups, partnerships, and opportunities for future collaboration.
• Support additional community engagement, education, and outreach initiatives as needed.

The Community Outreach Liaison will report directly to Executive Artistic Director Rafael Sánchez.

• Fluency in Spanish and English (required)
• Experience in community outreach, education, or youth-serving programs
• Deep familiarity with Latinx/e communities and immigrant experiences in NYC
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Commitment to culturally responsive, arts-based education
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of community engagement strategies for recent immigrant youth
• Existing relationships with NYC public schools
• Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for promoting the performing arts
• Experience facilitating workshops, focus groups, professional development, or community conversations
