School Supervisor

The In-School Supervisor supports a safe, inclusive, and productive school environment by providing supervision and structured support for students assigned to In-School Suspension (ISS) or other supervised interventions. The In-School Supervisor works to ensure that students remain connected to learning, understand expectations, take responsibility for their actions, and are supported in returning successfully to the classroom and school community.

• Provide consistent, active supervision of students assigned to In-School Suspension and other designated supervised settings.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, respectful, and welcoming environment where everyone belongs and every learner matters
  .
• Ensure students follow school and classroom expectations while assigned to ISS.
• Support students in completing assigned classroom work and maintaining academic progress during their time in ISS.
• Communicate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and other appropriate staff regarding student assignments, needs, progress, and concerns.
• Help students understand the connection between their choices, school expectations, and the impact of their behavior on themselves and others.
• Encourage students to reflect on incidents and identify appropriate strategies for making positive choices moving forward.
• Reinforce school-wide expectations, procedures, and standards in a consistent and respectful manner.
• Develop positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and high expectations.
• Support students in developing problem-solving, self-management, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Assist students with transitioning successfully back to their regular classroom environment following an ISS assignment.
• Identify and communicate concerns regarding student academic, behavioral, social, or emotional needs to the appropriate school personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments, behavior, and other required information.
• Follow all District policies, building procedures, confidentiality requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Assist administrators with other student supervision and support responsibilities as assigned.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Graduation from high school supplemented by additional experience and knowledge in a particular field where specialized duties are involved; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
