ai Kids, we believe playful learning starts with supported staff. We are looking for an Assistant Director to partner with our Directors in shaping a warm, safe, and engaging environment for children on the Upper East Side. This candidate will help oversee our growing child care center.

• Mentor and support our amazing team of teachers
• Build meaningful relationships with children and families
• Help manage daily center operations
• Provide support to the Director with managing center operations
• Work closely with the Business Operations Manager and company leadership team.
• Hire, train, supervise, and guide teachers and staff.
• Communicate regularly with parents and address their questions
• Maintain accurate health, safety, and operational records
• Provide classroom coverage as needed
• Ensure full compliance with state childcare and safety regulations

• A love for young children and progressive early education.
• Experience in a licensed preschool or child care center.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field,
• NYS State Certification in Birth-2
• Master’s in ECE in progress or completed
• Minimum 2 years working in a licensed child care or preschool setting as a Head Teacher
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills
