The Employment Manager is a new role within the BMCC’s Information Technology Training Programs and Apprenticeships within the Center for Continuing Education and Workforce Development (CEWD). Reporting to the Director of Continuing Education and Workforce Development – Information Technology & Apprenticeship Programs, the position is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding employer partnerships and apprenticeships that provide employment opportunities for students in IT pre-apprenticeships training programs.

The Employment Manager will source new employment, internships and apprenticeship sites, align employer needs with our industry align curriculum and objectives, conduct site visits, collect and communicate employer feedback, and cultivate employer partnerships into our Higher Ed ecosystem and Technology Industry Advisory Board.

• Drive strong job-placement outcomes by meeting the annual placement targets established by the department for IT graduates to land internships, apprenticeships, and full-time employment opportunities.
• Meet regularly with employers via Zoom, at events, and in professional settings to cultivate new hiring partnerships, coordinate interviews, and manage all aspects of the hiring process in collaboration with employer HR teams.
• Provide direct student support through one-on-one job coaching, resume preparation, mock interviews, and career readiness training equipping students with the professional presence, confidence, and tools needed to successfully compete for and secure employment.
• Prepare and facilitate career-readiness workshops on job search strategies, resume and cover letter preparation, and interviewing techniques.
• Track, analyze, and report all employment outcomes, including collection of job placement verification, paystubs, promotions, and retention, in alignment with departmental and grant goals.
• Experience conducting business development or employer engagement, particularly with employers hiring entry to mid-level talent.
• Present employer feedback and labor-market insights to the Director, staff, and Advisory Board to strengthen academic-to-career alignment.
