ARTFORUM: Artguide Administrator

As the magazine of record for the contemporary art industry, Artforum delivers the highest level of critical discourse about contemporary visual culture to a diverse international audience and is often the first to identify artists whose work comes to define eras. The Artguide Administrator at Artforum oversees the day-to-day operations, content, and functionality of the Artguide platform. The role manages the platform’s back end, submissions, listings, partner communications, customer service inquiries, and sales outreach while ensuring that Artguide remains an accurate, current, and leading international resource.

Through strategic outreach and engagement, the role strengthens Artguide’s content, visibility, and venue participation while identifying opportunities to expand and enhance the guide. Artforum values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture.

Platform and Content Administration:

• Approve and process new membership requests.
• Maintain venue listings worldwide, adding new venues, removing closed venues, and updating gallery and museum listings and exhibitions.
• Prioritize listing updates for highly trafficked cities, locations hosting art fairs, and venues covered by formal partnerships and advertising agreements.
• Manage the Artguide inbox, responding to troubleshooting requests and assisting with membership-related inquiries.
• Update and circulate weekly exhibition opening and closing lists to Artforum staff.
• Conduct regular outreach campaigns encouraging venues to update and maintain their listings.
• Provide monthly and ad hoc analytics.
• Curate featured content, including pinning listings, updating site graphics, and uploading editorial content in collaboration with the editorial team.
• Monitor platform functionality and work with developers to identify and resolve bugs and improve the user experience.

Sales and Outreach

• Oversee regular outreach to Artguide account holders, encouraging conversion to premium memberships in coordination with Artforum and ARTnews sales teams.
• Serve as a resource and point of contact for the sales team on Artguide functionality and premium membership benefits.

A good faith estimate of the salary range is $66,500 - $70,000 upon hire. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role.
