Job Description

A leading Bronx charter school is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Special Education Teacher to join its instructional team. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and committed to helping every student achieve academic success in an inclusive, high-expectations environment.

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in individual, small-group, and classroom settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student achievement.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation, reports, and compliance records.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Differentiate instruction and utilize evidence-based strategies to meet students' individual learning needs.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support the school's academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals.

• New York State Special Education Certification (Students with Disabilities 1-6, 7-12, or equivalent).
• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

• Salary: $71,000 (Bachelor's Degree), $82,000 (Master's Degree)
