Manhattan Day School, a Modern Orthodox Jewish day school on the Upper West Side, is seeking a warm, talented, and experienced Early Childhood Head Teacher to join our growing EC team.
Our Early Childhood program is rooted in relationship-based learning, developmentally responsive practice, joyful exploration, and strong partnership with families. We are looking for an educator who brings intention, creativity, and a deep understanding of early childhood development to the classroom.
Responsibilities include:- Leading a classroom community with warmth, consistency, and thoughtful structure
- Designing and implementing developmentally appropriate, engaging curriculum
- Supporting each child's academic, social, and emotional growth
- Collaborating closely with assistant teachers, specialists, and administrators
- Communicating regularly with families and contributing to a positive school culture
- Participating in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education (Master's preferred)
- 2-5+ years of classroom teaching experience in early childhood
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Deep knowledge of child development and play-based learning
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, joyful EC environment
