CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATIONNew York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY) is a comprehensive college offering associate and baccalaureate degree programs in downtown Brooklyn. The Student Success Center is seeking applicants for a part-time position as a New York State Opportunity Promise (NYSOP) Success Coach (Non-Teaching Adjunct I).
The NYS Opportunity Promise (NYSOP) Success Coach maintains holistic oversight of the cohort's academic trajectory, supporting students throughout the entire pathway from admission to graduation.
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Assistant Director of the Student Success Center and the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management, the NYSOP Success Coach's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Manage an assigned cohort of NYSOP students from onboarding through continued enrollment.
- Provide advisement on academic planning, course selection, registration, and NYSOP progression requirements.
- Provide direct enrollment support to an assigned cohort of NYSOP students, including admissions and readmission processes, registration, and assistance with CUNYfirst, Navigate, and other college systems.
- Conduct proactive outreach and follow-up with students throughout the enrollment cycle.
- Facilitate targeted outreach via email and phone to encourage and assist students in completing both the FAFSA and TAP applications.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely outreach to students requiring additional support.
- Connect students to appropriate academic and student support services.
- Support retention initiatives designed to keep NYSOP students on track toward degree completion.
- Support NYSOP orientation, registration, workshops, and student engagement activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student advisement, outreach, referrals, and follow-up.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Master's Degree
- Current or former CUNY student or experience in a college environment preferred.
- Experience in advisement, student services, outreach, or enrollment support.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adult learners and diverse student populations.
- Ability to manage a student caseload and provide consistent follow-up.
- Familiarity with CUNYfirst, Navigate, Microsoft Office, Zoom, or similar systems preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
$53.76/hr
