We are a small school located in a very diverse, multi-cultural neighborhood in Brooklyn. Our program has been serving Sunset Park since 1984.
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Assistant Teacher to support our infant and toddler class. This position involves working with children ranging from 0-6 years of age. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday with a typical shift of 9-5. Extended hours as needed
We are a 12-month program. Our school follows the DOE calendar for holidays and closures.
Salary is based on experience and educational background
General Accountabilities- Provide a safe, nuturing environment while supporting children's social, emotional, cognitve and physical development.
- Follow routines for feeding, sleeping and diapering
- Ensure constant supervision
- Collaborate with Co-teacher and adminstrative staff
- Comply with DOH and center policies and procedures
- High School Diploma
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred
- CDA credential preferred
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a childcare center
- Must pass Criminal Background check
- Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred
- Punctuality and reliabilty required
