B.J. Kadrmas, Inc. is seeking an experienced Right-of-Way Agent with 5+ years of experience for a contract-based position in Wyoming. This opportunity is ideal for independent contractors and offers tremendous growth potential.
Role Overview :As a Right-of-Way Agent at B.J. Kadrmas, Inc., you will play a crucial role in managing our clients’ operational needs on a day-to-day basis. Your responsibilities will be diverse and impactful, including:
- Manage client’s day-to-day operational needs.
- Meet with landowners, and county, state, and federal agencies to explain projects and answer questions.
- Document all contact with landowners (mail, telephone, e-mail, personal visits).
- Assimilate contact information and project activities, enter notes into project databases and/or spreadsheets.
- Secure permission from landowners, county, state, and federal agencies for various types of surveys on and across private or public lands.
- Negotiate for easements, tenant consent, access, temporary construction, and related surface agreements.
- Title research (county courthouse records and tax roll information).
- Project liaison between landowners and other contractors such as construction crews, inspectors, surveyors, and archaeologists.
- Settle damages before, during, and after construction.
- Maintain assigned parcel files from initiation to completion of the project.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and autonomously.
- In-depth knowledge of legal terminology related to land acquisitions.
- Experience in preparing legal documents and forms, such as easements and agreements.
- The capacity to juggle multiple projects simultaneously with high precision.
- Proficiency in interpreting maps, engineering drawings, and survey plats.
- Adept in various research methodologies, especially internet-based, courthouse records, and document retrieval.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field with at least 5 years of experience. - Superior organizational and negotiation skills.
- Competitive contracted day rate, negotiable based on experience.
