Landscape Inspector

Join Tectonic Engineering Consultants, Geologists & Land Surveyors, D.P.C. as a full‑time Landscape Inspector working on major park and construction projects in the New York Metro area.

Pay Range

$33.00/hr – $70.00/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience)

Essential Functions
  • Inspect, supervise, and control construction daily for overall site safety, permit compliance, and coordination with applicable agencies.
  • Inspect and coordinate installation work to ensure contractor adherence to technical requirements and overall project goals.
  • Conduct on‑site measurements, quantity tracking, and design work prior to and during construction activities.
  • Maintain required tracking records and installation reports.
  • Attend applicable job‑site meetings as required to discuss progress.
  • Follow project safety protocol.
  • Perform all related duties required to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years of landscape architecture and/or civil construction experience.
  • Basic understanding and ability to interpret written specifications, plans, and construction documents for work orders and build documents.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients, supervisors, and inspectors regarding specifications and qualification test results.
  • Strong attention to detail and specifications.
  • Reliable transportation required.
Physical Requirements

While performing the essential functions of this position, the following are frequently necessary:

  • Assume a stationary position.
  • Handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials, and/or equipment related to the job.
  • Communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and clients using company email and telephone systems.
  • Move around on the job site, including ascending/descending on a ladder, and reposition as needed to access testing materials and equipment, usually for prolonged periods of time.
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 lb.
  • Good visual skills, including focused depth perception.
  • Regular daily operations of a motor vehicle, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.

Employees may also be required to undergo substance abuse testing in accordance with project requirements, US DOT Regulations, and/or company policy. The employee may occasionally be required to operate a computer, as well as other related office machinery such as calculators, printers, and copy machines.
