Overview

Sunrock Distributed Generation is a developer, long‑term operator, and financier of solar assets deployed on the properties of businesses, municipalities, and nonprofits across the USA. Leveraging an unmatched network of trusted partners and installers, tech‑enabled operational efficiency, and a proprietary underwriting method, we design solar and distributed generation solutions tailored to the needs of organizations previously unable to access the benefits of solar energy.

Our approach enables businesses to maximize the benefits of solar and distributed energy solutions, regardless of project size.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain robust partnerships with key stakeholders, including developers and EPC companies, to foster collaboration and drive project acquisition.
  • Lead initiatives to secure project quotes, negotiate Letters of Intent, underwriting, and support the execution of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), ensuring a streamlined process from conception to completion.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and shifts, providing insights and analysis that inform our market strategy and positioning. Identify emerging opportunities to enhance our competitive edge.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to share valuable market intelligence and contribute to developing strategic initiatives that align with our business goals.
  • Monitor, report, and evaluate the success of channel partnerships, implementing strategies for improvement and growth based on performance metrics and market feedback.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree or graduate’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience:

    A minimum of 2+ years of business development experience working within C&I solar, including experience running a partner channel.
  • Network:
    An understanding of who the market leaders are within your territory and a previous history of working with multiple developers.
  • Analytical

    Skills:

    Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to work with complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    In‑depth knowledge of the solar energy market, including regulatory policies, incentives, and key players.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with energy modelling software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope) and Energy Toolbase.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy financing mechanisms (e.g., PPAs, tax equity).
  • Knowledge of utility rate structures and tariffs.
Position Type / Hours of Work

The candidate is ideally located in California or Massachusetts. This role may involve occasional in‑person team meetings in Baltimore and NYC, travel to partner locations within territory, and industry events.

Compensation
  • 120-140k base + commission bonus + equity.
