The Opportunity

As the Lead Estimator, you will be the architectural translator who bridges the gap between high-concept design and fiscal reality. You will leverage your deep industry connections and technical expertise to price some of the most sophisticated residential projects in New York City, ensuring every detail of a luxury build is accounted for. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule while allowing you to make a tangible impact on the company’s growth and project excellence.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Analyze complex architectural and structural drawings to identify scope gaps and ensure total project coordination.
  • Develop detailed, self-performed estimates for luxury millwork and cabinetry without relying on external subcontractor pricing.
  • Source and negotiate with an elite network of subcontractors, fabricators, and suppliers to secure premium materials and labor.
  • Formulate creative value-engineering solutions that reduce costs without compromising the integrity of high-end designs.
  • Lead the pre-construction phase by providing accurate budget projections that align with the highest levels of craftsmanship.
  • Evaluate vendor bids and material specifications to ensure they meet the rigorous quality standards of the NYC luxury market.
  • Collaborate with the field operations team to transition won projects from the estimating phase to active construction.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically within the luxury residential sector.
  • Proven expertise in pricing high-end custom millwork and fine interior finishes as a direct contractor.
  • Advanced ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Demonstrated history of managing a robust network of specialty subcontractors and vendors within New York City.
  • Mastery of estimating software and Microsoft Excel for complex data analysis and budget modeling.
  • Strong understanding of the structural stages of high-end renovations and how they impact final finish costs.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
  • Extensive existing relationships with NYC-based luxury fabricators and artisanal trade partners.
  • Experience working on high-profile gut renovations for world-class designers and architects.
