Mecho offers an opportunity for a reliable, self‑motivated Field Service Technician to make an immediate impact in a demanding department. The Technician will service mechanical, electrical, and software/network issues, ensuring proper functionality per the intended design and specifications. This mobile specialist will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex systems.
Responsibilities- Support the installation and programming of Electro Shades and the Solar Trac Automation system.
- Provide technical support remotely or on‑site, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
- Attend meetings with Operations, Dealer, EC, GC, IT, End User.
- Support documentation for Drafters, Engineering, Marketing, Dealers.
- Commission Solar Trac projects remotely or on‑site, thoroughly following the checklist with the Mecho dealer.
- Assist in training facilities staff on operation and maintenance of automated systems.
- Perform health checks, maintenance inspections, and produce detailed reports.
- Liaise with Engineering on unresolved mechanical, electrical, or software issues.
- Record recurring issues and communicate information to Engineering, suggesting fixes where possible.
- Associate’s degree with relevant experience, bachelor’s degree in a Technical, Electrical, IT, or Engineering field preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience with one or more of Audio Visual, Security, CCTV, Lighting, Automation systems.
- Experience with motor control electronics is a plus.
- Excellent technical and communication skills.
- Up to 70% travel required; must have valid driver’s license.
- Capable of reading schematics and troubleshooting systems.
- On‑site presence preferred; regular travel required.
- In‑depth familiarity with standard hard‑wired and bus control technologies.
- Familiarity with multimeters, CAT 5/6 crimping tools, cable testers.
- Ability to read construction drawings.
- Database knowledge is a plus.
- OSHA Card is a plus.
The annual base for this position is reasonably expected to be between $60,000 and $80,000. Factors that may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
