Part‑Time FAA Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Farmingdale State College is looking to hire part‑time FAA Aircraft Maintenance Technicians. The chosen candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools.
• Check for corrosion, distortion, and invisible cracks in the fuselage, wings, and tail, using inspection equipment.
• Clean, refuel, and change oil in line service aircraft.
• Conduct routine and special inspections as required by regulations.
• Disassemble engines, and inspect parts such as cylinders for corrosion, wear, warping, cracks, and leaks.
• Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and de‑icers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problems.
• Prepare and paint aircraft surfaces.
• Participate in the safety program at the Aviation Center.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificates.
• Flexible availability, including weekends.

ADDITIONAL

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience working in a 141 Flight School as an AMT.
• Bachelor's degree or greater.

• Part‑time position.
• Salary: $25/hour, may increase commensurate with experience.
