Gensler is looking for a Job Captain in the New York office who combines creativity and technical knowledge with business skills to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients.
Responsibilities- Partner with Project Architect to produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction of the project.
- Provide project team coordination for incorporating design intent into the construction documentation.
- Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction.
- Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
- Utilize hand and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- 5‑8 years of post‑graduation experience.
- Experience with Critical Facilities (e.g., data centers, command and control centers, high‑performance computing) or similarly complex projects required.
- Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
- Experience in construction document preparation and field observation.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Proficient in Revit, Rhino, Sketch Up and other 3D modeling software.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Portfolio and resume must be submitted in PDF format.
Base salary range: $82‑95k. Additional compensation includes two annual bonuses paid in December and June, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and profit sharing.
