YourImpact at SAM
- Respond to utility locate requests by locating and marking underground facilities in accordance with state 811 requirements, client standards, and company procedures.
- Utilize locating equipment, utility maps, records, and field judgment to identify the approximate path of buried utilities with accuracy and consistency.
- Complete clear and thorough ticket documentation, including field notes, photos, and positive response updates.
- Communicate professionally with contractors, homeowners, utility owners, dispatch, and internal leadership regarding job status, access issues, and field conditions.
- Manage daily workload efficiently while maintaining production expectations, quality standards, and required response times.
- Work safely in a fast‑paced field environment by following company safety procedures, damage prevention practices, PPE requirements, and safe vehicle operation standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in utility location/damage prevention is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with contractors, homeowners, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in the field, problem‑solve, and adapt to changing conditions on job sites.
- Work outdoors under the full range of weather conditions typically experienced throughout all seasons of the year.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with 811 dig laws and safe excavation practices is preferred, but training will be provided.
