Azar Design Co is seeking experienced Construction Inspector to provide full-time field inspection and documentation for a municipal water and utility infrastructure project in Bainbridge (Chenango County), NY. The work includes HDPE water main installation primarily via Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), water service installations, hydrants, valves, hydrostatic testing, disinfection, utility tie‑ins, septic system improvements, restoration, traffic control, and erosion control.

• Serve as the Owner’s field representative during construction.
• Monitor contractor activities for compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and applicable standards.
• Inspect installation of HDPE water mains, water services, hydrants, valves, tracer wire, and utility appurtenances.
• Observe HDD operations, utility crossings, entry/exit pits, and environmental controls.
• Verify trenching, bedding, backfill, compaction, restoration, and erosion/sediment control measures.
• Witness hydrostatic pressure testing, leakage testing, flushing, disinfection, and bacteriological sampling.
• Review fusion welding records, test reports, certifications, and as‑built documentation.
• Maintain daily inspection reports, field photographs, quantity tracking, and project records.
• Coordinate with the contractor, engineer, utility owners, Village of Bainbridge, NYSDOT, and regulatory agencies.
• Monitor traffic control, OSHA trench safety compliance, and overall site safety.
• Identify deficiencies, document corrective actions, and verify resolution before acceptance.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience on underground utility, water, sewer, or heavy civil projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, and test reports.
• Experience inspecting HDPE pipe installation and fusion operations.
• Experience with Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD).
• Familiarity with AWWA water main installation, testing, and disinfection standards.
• Knowledge of NYSDOH potable water requirements.
• OSHA Training Preferred.
• Travel on the jobsite may be required.
• Availability for 8 to 10 hr work shifts.
• Valid Driving license, reliable vehicle and current US Work eligibility required.

$45 to $60. Actual pay rate will be determined based on the applicant’s qualifications, experience and specific assignment.
