Location: New York

Working with an experienced team of Technical Asset Managers, this role is responsible for supporting the technical performance of a fleet of distributed generation (DG) operating solar and battery storage assets in order to drive optimal asset performance and a safe, efficient, and effective operations and maintenance (O M) program. The Associate Technical Asset Manager will assist with the identification and tracking of performance affecting events and maintain maintenance records for reporting.

The successful candidate will preferably be based in our New York City office, where team members work a hybrid schedule. Well-qualified remote candidates based near our projects in the Northeast US, California, Illinois, or other US locations will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day management of O M contractors for distributed generation PV solar and storage, including assisting the management of prompt and appropriate reactive maintenance, tracking regular preventative maintenance, and the timely and accurate delivery of service reporting
  • Regular review and administration of reactive and preventative maintenance service reports, including making recommendations for corrective action or asset improvements as needed
  • Maintain asset technical information and records, including site access procedures, service records, spare parts inventory, warranty claims, and preventive maintenance schedule
  • Assist Technical Asset Managers with contracting for O M and ancillary services, including supporting commercial negotiations, drafting statements of work, and tracking terms and contractor compliance
  • Contribute to the optimization of project performance and tracking of performance affecting issues
  • Review operational feedback and maintenance records inputs to asset performance reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and project management teams to assist in the onboarding of new assets into operations and asset management
  • Identify and implement industry best practices across the asset life cycle, based on both operational experience and staying current with industry innovation, to drive best-in-class quality and a high level of asset performance throughout operations
  • Occasionally visit project locations and customers.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering, Environmental/Sustainability Studies, or similar preferred.
  • Educational or professional experience with solar, wind or other clean energy. If professional experience, a concentration in Asset Management, O M Management, Engineering, Project Management or Project Development
  • Knowledge of DG PV system design and operation, including knowledge of electrical systems, data acquisition/SCADA systems, and network/remote communications, and the ability to support the identification and troubleshooting of operational issues
  • Experience supporting the management of contractors, preferably electrical service contractors
  • Working knowledge of data monitoring programs, preferably Power Factors Drive and Also Energy Power Track
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated experience in managing and reporting of large datasets, as well as a strong ability to analyze and synthesize the data, including high quality communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience reviewing and reporting industry standard PV system performance metrics
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to work well both independently and in a dynamic and collaborative work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an honest open communication style
  • Mindful, accountable, responsible, respectful and collaborative approach to work
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional experience in Technical Asset Management of DG PV solar and battery energy storage systems
  • Working knowledge of solar energy production estimate models and related outputs from industry standard programs like PVSyst
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, data acquisition/SCADA systems, and network/remote communications
  • Knowledge of common solar and battery storage performance metrics
  • Working knowledge of solar energy production estimate models and the outputs of related industry standard programs like PVSyst
  • Experience working with an internal CRM (particularly Salesforce)
