Description

Are you interested in playing a critical role for survey projects? C.T. Male Associates, a multi-discipline surveying, engineering, environmental, and architectural firm in the Northeast, is looking for an experienced and motivated Crew Chief to join our team in either Latham or Syracuse, NY.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform diverse survey work, including boundary, topographic, utility, construction, laser scanning, GPS, and other advanced surveys.
  • Direct and manage an Instrument Operator engaged in making field surveys, using survey notes, maps, deeds, plots and plats, property lines, etc.
  • Ensure accuracy of measurements and maintain accurate records, notes, and sketches of work performed.
  • Prepare, practice, and enforce all Health and Safety Procedures for yourself and the team.
  • Obtain information from public corporations, government agencies, and other surveyors, including conducting deed research.

Pay Range: $27.00 - $45.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

In addition to competitive wages, our survey crews regularly perform work on prevailing wage projects throughout New York State. Depending on project assignment and location, prevailing wage rates currently range from $75.00 - $104.00 per hour. Not all projects are prevailing wage projects, and employees typically work a mix of project types throughout the year.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two (2) year college or technical school with three plus (3+) years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Full working knowledge of Boundary Law and experience in boundary & topographic surveys.
  • Expert utilization knowledge of Data Collectors & Total Stations.
  • Ability to travel routinely, including overnight stays.
  • Leadership skills, including mentoring junior staff.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to comfortably lift and walk several feet carrying up to 75 lbs. of equipment
