Position Summary
The Area Mobile Manager leads the coordination, scheduling, and execution of TNFS mobile service operations within an assigned territory, serving as the primary operational link between TNFS, OpCos, Mobile Technicians, and customers. Mobile Technicians remain under the personnel management of their respective OpCo. This role directs day-to-day operational activity, aligns resources with customer requirements, and partners with OpCo leadership to deliver consistent service.
The role also owns customer relationships, service quality, and growth opportunities within the assigned market.
- Coordinate daily deployment and scheduling of Mobile Technicians.
- Match technicians to customer needs based on location, urgency, and skill.
- Maintain visibility into availability, scheduled work, and customer needs.
- Partner with OpCo leadership and dispatch to maintain coverage.
- Adjust schedules based on customer needs and technician availability.
- Improve routing to increase utilization, productivity, and response times.
- Communicate customer commitments and technician expectations
- Monitor mobile work and address delays, coverage gaps, or operational issues.
- Confirm work quality, documentation, and customer expectations.
- Escalate significant operational concerns to TNFS and OpCo leadership.
- Serve as the operational liaison between TNFS, technicians, and customers.
- Partner with OpCo leadership to align customer and operational priorities.
- Provide technicians with the information needed to complete assigned work.
- Support consistent TNFS mobile service standards across the territory.
- Identify recurring challenges and partner on practical solutions.
- Escalate technician performance concerns to the appropriate OpCo manager.
- OPCON covers daily mobile service execution, including scheduling, priorities, customer commitments, quality, and escalation.
- OPCON does not include personnel authority. Hiring, compensation, termination, and formal performance management remain with OpCo leadership.
- Serve as a primary operational contact for mobile service customers.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer complaints and fieldservice concerns.
- Understand customer fleets, service needs, locations, and expectations.
- Follow up on service performance, concerns, and customer expectations.
- Represent TNFS professionally during customer meetings and site visits.
- Communicate service changes, scheduling updates, and operational issues.
- Drive mobile service growth within the assigned market.
- Expand services with existing customers and locations.
- Develop prospective customer relationships and introduce TNFS capabilities.
- Partner with sales, TNFS leadership, and OpCos on growth opportunities.
- Monitor market conditions, fleet activity, and competitors.
- Evaluate new opportunities for feasibility, resources, and coverage.
- Support customer onboarding and mobile service launches.
- Develop market plans to improve utilization, service density, and revenue.
- Monitor utilization, response times, service levels, and market activity.
- Improve productivity, routing, scheduling, and technician utilization.
- Update the VP of Operations on performance, challenges, capacity, and growth.
- Use operating data to identify trends and support decisions.
- Support standardized processes and corrective actions.
- Forecast technician capacity based on demand and growth.
- Provide clear operational direction and strong working relationships.
- Promote accountability, urgency, teamwork, and customer focus.
- Coordinate communication across customers, technicians and internal team
- Balance customer, technician, OpCo, and business priorities effectively.
- Customer satisfaction and retention.
