Project Engineer - Heavy Civil

Metric Geo are working with a large and reputable contractor who are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage projects from buyout through closeout. This role supports project planning, field operations, and contract compliance while ensuring schedules, budgets, and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support monthly billings, cash flow tracking, and change order processing.
• Review shop drawings, mock-ups, and contract specifications.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and coordinate with QA/QC teams.
• Ensure completed work meets codes, drawings, and specifications.
• Identify critical work items, procure long-lead materials, and schedule deliveries.
• Assist in work plans, project scheduling, and document control.
• Support field operations and supervise subcontractor activities.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Perform material quantity takeoffs and assist in purchase order/subcontract preparation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience, including projects >$100M.
• Experience preparing cost reports and tracking project budgets.
• Knowledge of legal, contract, and claims processes.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with Procore, Primavera P6, or similar software.
• Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
