TEC Building Systems is a leader in the design, installation, and maintenance of Building Automation and Control Systems in the New York City, Metropolitan area; providing advanced control system solutions to the commercial, institutional, transportation, healthcare, and large scale residential markets. We are currently seeking control system design engineers with various levels of experience to join the engineering group of our rapidly expanding organization.
ResponsibilitiesBAS Design Engineers are responsible for managing the design phase of projects, creating highly functional, cost-effective control system designs that comply with project plans and specifications. The design phase includes:
- Reviewing contract plans, specifications, proposals, and budgets.
- Designing DDC control panels, wiring schematics, and system interfaces to control building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Selecting control system products and developing project bill of materials.
- Documenting system sequence of operations and operating parameters.
- Developing electrical installation wiring diagrams and scopes of work.
Senior Design Engineer: 10+ years of experience. A senior design engineer works independently or leads a team in the design of large, highly complex control system designs. Must demonstrate the ability to handle and lead all control system design aspects associated with complex mechanical and building systems across numerous vertical markets. Able to train, oversee and supervise others.
- Knowledgeable in building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Able to read and understand architectural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and communication systems contract drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work on multiple projects and varying project teams.
- Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred.

$125K–$145K base for mid-level talent (3–5 years) and $160K+ for senior-level talent.
