Overview
STV currently has openings for Mid-Level Design Engineers with experience in drainage design in our NYC office.
STV is seeking a Mid-Level Drainage Design Engineer to assist with infrastructure and site development projects for various public and private clients. This position requires knowledge of agency stormwater regulations including hands-on experience with hydrology and hydraulics analysis, stormwater modeling, design of both site drainage and green infrastructure practices. This position offers opportunities to manage projects that have a significant stormwater component.
Candidates will be part of an engineering team responsible for the technical delivery of infrastructure design tasks that meet scope, schedule, budget and quality. Previous experience meeting requirements of NYCDEP, NYSDEC, ACOE and/or NJDEP and local area municipalities is preferred.
- Mid-Level Drainage Design Engineer for public and private stormwater projects from inception to Final Design.
- Interact with agencies for coordination of design necessary to gain permit sign-offs and approvals.
- Assist the management team with development of strategies for scope and schedule for the delivery of technical reports and design documents.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of New York preferred; E.I.T. with requisite experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in the analysis and design of stormwater, hydrology, hydraulics, drainage systems and green infrastructure practices.
- Experience performing analysis and design of drainage systems to meet agency permitting requirements including assistance in the development of SWPPPs (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans).
- Experience in modeling programs including HEC-RAS, TR-55, SWMM including hydraulic analysis of culverts and bridge structures.
- Experience in the design of sanitary and stormwater pump stations is preferred.
- Experience in stormwater management to meet water quality and quantity for flow restriction and mitigation techniques
- Coordination with team members conducting NEPA process activities.
- Experience in the hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design of stormwater systems to meet agency requirements.
- Responsibility to meet scope, schedule, budget and quality for the delivery of study reports, calculations and design documents.
- Experience working with other engineering disciplines and public agencies/municipalities.
- Experience with either AutoCAD-Civil 3D and/or Microstation ORD is required.
