Overview

HVAC – Estimator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will assist the company in making profitable business decisions by gathering information and preparing accurate estimates. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and has a proven track record as an Estimator.

Qualifications
  • Possess a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in an HVAC firm as an estimator.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) is preferred.
  • Ability to forecast building costs and knowledge of estimation formulas.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Skilled in relevant software (Timberline, HCSS Heavy Bid).
  • Excellent research, writing, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrate exceptional multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Show impeccable attention to detail, along with proficient analytical and mathematical aptitudes.
Responsibilities
  • The Estimator will identify, prepare, and provide competitive quotes and project proposals for the supply and installation of Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Review specifications and drawings and attend pre-bid meetings, site walk-throughs, etc. to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
  • Source pricing information for materials and equipment essential for project execution.
  • Review bid documents for completeness, accuracy, and coordination with other trades.
  • Create comprehensive cost breakdowns encompassing material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead expenses associated with installations.
  • Maintain meticulous records of documentation, specifications, estimates, submittals, and contract drawings.
  • Work on multiple opportunities concurrently.
  • Budget and forecast using appropriate software.
  • Respond to customer queries.
